It happens often enough that Spoiled Sugar is approached by “pitch” from other companies to handout some freebies, and normally I pass – but given that this is a local restaurant that can actually accommodate my triplets ( which believe me, very very few restaurants can) I thought it’d why not host a little give away for them! AND I’m sure some Spoiled Sugar parents would LOVE a night out on Boston Pizza!

Here’s the catch head over to Boston Pizza Orleans on FACEBOOK and like them! Leave me a comment to say that you’ve liked them on facebook and you get a ballot – it’s that easy!

The winner will be announced Sunday evening Oct 6th, tickets can be picked up the night of the show at Empire Theaters in Orleans. Showtime is at 7:00pm on November 17th.

PS – this is a “win your way in” contest held exclusively by BP Orleans! You can’t get in to see the screening any other way! Desperate for a ticket? Make sure to head over to Boston Pizza in Orleans for an extra ballot!

Good Luck!

I created a little project for myself and our seamstress Miranda Wolff this summer, Instead of stocking the same patterns over and over again, we’ve release limited editions of some amazing dresses/blouses. We’ve created and only made one of each size to be sold to the public – which means you are getting an original piece when you’re buying these blouses… But here’s the great part…

Buy a size up! With my girls I buy the next size up and this blouse works PERFECTLY as a little dress for the summer ( even cuter paired with a bloomer underneath) and as they grow and fall/winter comes you can wear the summer dress as a blouse with jeans or pants – You’ll easily get 2 maybe 3 seasons out of this piece – and all for only $20.00!!

Another great thing about our blouses is that the more you wash them, the more darling they become. As you wash and dry the elastic in the fabric becomes tighter as do the ruffles and it just gets so ruffly and cute! Now I don’t pre-wash them because of allergies so I’ll leave that for you to do – but you’ll watch with each wash your piece will get cuter and cuter!

We have many great print in-stock but hurry they are one of a kind in each size so go quick :)

Ps – Just listed is a strawberry shortcake edition – my FAV!

$1,150.00

It started off as a simple, personal goal to raise $100.00 to donate to the Weekend to End Cancer – but with the generosity of amazing women in business this auction took on a life of it’s own! With only six short days to organize the auction – I was overwhelmed with the amount of donations that came in. I worked day and night accepting and uploading donations from fabulous woman in business who generously donated more than I could have ever imagined!

After a two day auction, together we raised $1,150 for the weekend to end womans cancer. I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of all the “momprenures” who donated – so please take a moment to visit this link “donors” and support the amazing woman who helped us raise $1,150.00! What an incredible feat for our first year!

We plan on making this auction a yearly experience. We have already begun accepting donations for next years auction. If you would like to be part of our incredible auction next year please dont hesitate to contact me via email: spoiledsugar@bell.net and I will give you all the information you need. Next years goal is $2,000.00 – WE. CAN. DO. IT !!

Thanks again

I have to admit when I was a parent of one; I may have just been one of those parents who thought that “dog leashes” were not for children. When the triplets came, for safety and sanity reasons I knew that we needed to become a family who endorsed “leashes” but I wasn’t about to put my trio in silly little pack packs with animals on them, or use actual dog leash material on them. I want them to be cute, I want them to feel comfortable, I did NOT it to look like I used the same material to make a dog leash for their “leash”.

Enter – Love Handles! Keeping in line with my “mom made/ mommy inspired”  idea behind spoiled sugar I knew there had to be a mom out there who could make something for me that would be practical, easy to put on, fashionable, breathable, and suitable for all seasons! I found her! Armed with a talented group of designers and sewers in New Yorks garment district Valerie designed the amazing Love Handle!

It’s currently not available in Canada – Spoiled Sugar is very very proud to be the first company to carry it and we’re excited to get the product rolling! The Love Handle uses no straps, snaps or other fastners it’s made strictly from cotton canvas and it is lined with lightweight cotton! Think of your favourite sling, but now made to help feel confident in walking toddler/preschooler keeping them close by – no more close calls running to close to the road!

Still have questions? Maybe this will help:

Does The Love Handle® come in different sizes? The Love Handle® is one-size-fits-all.  Because The Love Handle® uses no straps, snaps or other fasteners; it is fully self-adjusting and fits young children of all sizes, from toddler-age and for years to come.  The Love Handle® will comfortably accommodate your child’s specific body type.

How Durable is The Love Handle®? The Love Handle® is extremely durable and has been rigorously safety tested.  It is made from strong, 100% cotton canvas material**, lined in lightweight cotton, and is expertly sewn.  It will securely support your child while allowing you to control the distance he or she travels.

Is The Love Handle® Machine Washable? Yes. The Love Handle® is machine washable and can be put in the drier or line-dried.  Wash and care instructions are labeled inside each garment, and should be followed.

Can it be worn over winter coats/snowsuits?  Of course it can! As a result of the one-size-fits all design the Love Handle will grow with your child – or their padded wardrobe!

We’re offering a special offer to those wanting to PRE ORDER their Love handle.  The Love Handle will retail at $50.00 we’re offering a special promotion of FREE SHIPPING and an introductory price of $40.00. Pre Orders will be accepted until May 20th. This offer cannot be combined with any other sale, promotion, coupon or discount code. Pre Sales will be available for pick up/ shipping in approximately 4 weeks (June 5th)

We know you’re going to love the new Love Handle, it’s so nice to finally get your little one out of their strollers at museums, parks, walks and let them feel independent – all while giving you peace of mind! I promise you your little one will nap like never before after walking around the tulip festival as opposed to being pushed around!!

This week made by you Wednesday – miracles is a follow up to last week’s post – I still am in awe of the amazing woman that have touched my life since starting Spoiled Sugar.

To date we have a little over $1000.00 in donated items for our weekend to end cancer auction – that’s amazing, considering we’ve only been taking donations for 1 week. I started the auction with the initial hopes of raising $100.00 from Spoiled Sugar demo items, and the donations kept coming and coming from amazing woman in business, I moved up my goal to $500.00 and I think we may just surpass this!

There is certainly something for everyone in the auction – from end of year teacher gifts ( steeped tea wellness packs) to gifts for your daycare provider ( Gymboree parachute) to gifts for your expecting friends ( ONS GEAR onesies) – we’ll have over 30 items up for grabs by the time the auction rolls into full swing on Friday April 15th @ 9:15am! The auction closes Sunday April 17th @ 8:30pm – make sure to get your last minute bids in :)

(you can pre-register for the auction over here: http://www.32auctions.com/view_auction?id=weekendtoendcancer&pwd=spoiledsugar )

I think Pamela from bibmababy hit the nail on the head when she said “help local moms fight cancer” that’s really what this auction has become – a fantastic collection of momprenures from Ottawa generously donating amazing items for you to get super deals on – all while helping put an end to cancer once and for all!

I’d love if you could take a peek at our donors and support their business – they’re really amazing woman!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Spoiled Sugar @ 7:00 am

I’ve seen a few of these recipes floating around on places like kids in the capital and Canadian Family magazine and I just couldn’t resist, they look so yummy and fun to eat!

Here’s what you need:

1 white cake box ( and ingredients it calls for)

Food Colouring

Here’s what you do:

Prepare your cake batter as per the instructions on the box, then divide the batter up in four (or however many you want really you’re the artist!) containers. Now here’s the part to get the kiddos involved – start by adding a few drops of desired colour into each container – the more dye you add the more intense your colour will be!

When you’re finished you should have a nice little assortment of colours something similar to this

Now comes what you would think is the tricky part – but it was so easy! Line your muffin trays with cupcake foils and then just layer the batter – I found that as you “dropped” each colour, it helped to let the batter fall from the spoon while you made circles above the cupcake foil… I hope Im creating a visual for you – :) You should have something that looks like this

Once your cupcake foils are all filled up – pop them into the oven and cook as per your boxes instructions…remove from the oven and let cool. Once your muffins are cooled – go ahead and decorate -and then.. CUT!!! That’s the fun part – when the real rainbow comes out!

I hope you enjoy your little goodies – we had a plate full but it sure didn’t last long in our house – and I have to say even the triplets who are only 16 months noticed that there was something funky going on with their food – so even if you dont have a helper to make them, Im sure they’ll be enjoyed even by little ones !

My Question to you:

I used plain Jane ol’ Betty Crocker straight outta the tub icing – YACK! Do you have a secret recipe for icing that you would share with us?! (ok me and my cupcake addiction) lol!!
